Eventless Plot – Birds' Singing Reminds of Freedom [CS]

"This album was composed and recorded in the spring of 2020, a period of human isolation and mobility restriction due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Empty cities, lacking their usual urban noise, were suddenly filled with some unnoticeable sounds like for example the birds’ singing. This hidden voice of the birds in the center of Thessaloniki came as a surprise for us, generating an amazing feeling of freedom even in this extremely restricted condition. For us, this quietness of the city and all the emerging sounds worked as a great inspiration to compose this piece.

“Birds’ singing reminds of freedom” is an electroacoustic composition in two parts created from improvised material that was recorded in Thessaloniki in 2020. Field recordings, tapes and various percussion sounds, generated from crotales, sound plates, singing bowls and contact mics, are combined with analog synths, piano recordings, electronics and Max/MSP patches.
