John Duncan – Black Moon [LP/Shortwave Radio]

"For this boxset, John Duncan made - in cooperation with super assistant Alex - a shortwave radio with antenna and Morse key. It comes in a silkscreened carton box with a poem and the edition number at the bottom of the lid. Within the carefully packaged foam interiors, you will also find a sheet signed by the artist.

Black Moon is composed of shortwave radio signals, recorded via the online receiver website at the Technical University of Enschede. Each signal was chosen for the resonance it evokes in the listener; later interwoven with others from the same source recorded over several days, all selected for qualities that are outside of predictable, controllable parameters. Thus, creating a sophisticated multi-dimensional listening experience.
